FOOTAGE of family and friends fighting at a funeral in Glasgow has been posted online.

The video, uploaded to Twitter, shows mourners entering the service at Craigton Crematorium in Cardonald as a massive brawl breaks out at the side of the hearse.

The clip captures a large group of men and women exchanging punches.

The video also shows a man whacking his victims with a stick-like object or golf club while others try to break the barney up.

A shocked bystander can be heard screaming: "Oh my god. Get in, get in."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that the incident happened on Friday, December 29 at around 3.50pm.

She said: "Police were called to a report of a large scale disturbance at Craigton Crematorium.

"Police attended and assistance and advice was given.

"There were no reports of any injuries and no one wished to make any complaint to police at the time.

"No further incidents were reported."

A spokesman from Craigton Crematorium highlighted that such outbursts are very rare.

He said: "On Friday, December 29 a group of 20-25 mourners were involved in a violent incident outside the crematorium prior to a funeral taking place.

"It quickly became apparent that the police would be required to intervene and they were called by a member of our staff.

"Once police took control, the funeral proceeded as scheduled and we have provided them with our CCTV footage.

"Whilst family disputes can sometimes happen at any emotional occasion this type of incident is thankfully very rare at a funeral."
