Rangers new-boy Sean Goss has outlined what Ibrox supporters can expect from him, and as well as a fine range of passing, the defensive midfielder says that he is ready to get nasty when required.

The former Manchester United youth prospect joined Rangers on a loan deal to the end of the season from Queens Park Rangers yesterday, after making just six appearances for the Loftus Road club since signing last January in a £500,000 deal.

But he insists he is ready to hit the ground running despite his lack of game-time, and he reckons he can add a bit of dig to the Light Blue’s engine room.

"I'm a defensive midfielder who likes to get on the ball from the back four and spread passes around,” he told Rangers TV.

"I also like to think I have goals in my game, so I will be trying to get forward as much as I can as well.

"I'd like to start the play off from the defence, get on the ball as much as I can and dictate the play.

"I also have that nasty side to me as well, and will get stuck in."

Goss has arrived on time to book his seat on the flight to the USA on Friday with the rest of his teammates for the Florida Cup, and he is relishing the opportunity to prove himself to his new manager and teammates.

"I can't wait,” he said. “And I think that will be a great thing for me to meet all the boys.

"Obviously there are a couple of games over there as well, so I would like to impress in them.

"I'm really looking forward to living here too. I've heard it's a lively city, and I look forward to settling in."

Goss is already well-versed in the Ibrox side though, after living with Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson when the pair were at Old Trafford together.

And knowing the size of the club, he needed little persuasion in making the move north.

“I’ve watched quite a few of the games, and I was woken up every morning by a massive Rangers fan in Jordan Thompson," he said.

"I have spoken to him quite a bit and he couldn't say enough about the club.

"Rangers is a massive football club with a massive fanbase as well, and being out there seeing the stadium was unbelievable. So, for me it was a no-brainer, and I couldn't wait to get here.

"I know it is a tough league and there is a lot expected of the Rangers players.

"That is why I'm here - I want to challenge myself at a big club and I can't wait to get going.

"It's been frustrating for me personally, the last year or so with game time, but I'm hoping to come here and do well for this club."
