Ex-Rangers legend Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne has unveiled a healthy new look for 2018.

In a Twitter post, he looked fresh-faced as he told his followers: “Don’t worry it’s me. Gazza’s back.”

The post went down well with many of his followers as dozens clamoured to commend him on looking well.

“Nice to see you back Gazza,” wrote one fan, as another said, “Looking well mate.”

Another chipped in: “Great to see you Gazza looking good.”

Gazza played for Rangers between 1995 and 1998. In recent years, however, he has become more known for his battle with drugs and alcoholism.

The troubled ex-sportsman reduced TV viewers to tears in an open and candid interview last May.

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, Gazza broke down as he labelled 2017 as his “worst ever.”

Recalling how he was “doing really well” in his battle against the bottle, he then spoke about how the suicide of his 22-year-old nephew Jay Kerrigan in 2016 set him back.

In 2015, Gazza fought back tears on a number of occasions as he answered questions after a film on his life, troubles and career was screened.

The former England footballer said watching some of the footballing scenes made him feel “like a kid again”, after years spent battling mental illness, drugs and alcohol addiction.

Gascoigne said he was 33 when he realised he was an alcoholic, having been confused as to why when he woke up at 5am after a night out he would still want another drink.
