A PERVERT who faced seven charges of public indecency has walked free from court.

Aitor Acebes left several Glasgow residents in a state of shock by removing his clothes and performing sex acts on himself in public places across the city centre over a period of several months.

The first incident took place just five metres away from the offices of the National Theatre of Scotland where staff spotted him on a footpath, which leads from Civic Street to Garscube Road, around 10.30am on August 8, 2016.

The 32-year-old stood within a small area of bushes and removed his shirt and trousers before carrying out the lewd act.

A female member of the public was seen walking towards to the path where Acebes was standing, prompting him to put his clothes back on and stop what he was doing. After she had left the vicinity, he proceeded to take off his clothing again and continue, before leaving the area.

Acebes was tracked down by police and in reply to caution and charge, told cops that they were “not right”.

On June 12 last year, another man was privy to the activity. While looking out of the window of his home, close to Braid Square, he saw Acebes. The court heard the property looks on the rear of the playground for Abercorn Secondary School.

While kids were in the playground for their lunch break, Acebes, of Grovepark Street, was seen glancing around before unzipping his jeans and exposing his genitals. He then began to perform the same sex act. The witness contacted police immediately and noted the accused was also exposing his bare chest and stomach. He continued to carry out the act for a short time before dressing himself, smoking a cigarette, and leaving the area.

The resident caught Acebes on camera. Footage showed he had carried out the act in full view of the public and while he could hear and see children in the playground – however, the children did not see him.

Just a month later, two residents were getting ready for work at their home on Grovepark Court, just a short distance from Acebes’ house, around 5.15am on July 19, 2017.

One glanced out of their window into the cul-de-sac where they saw a man standing completely naked and smoking a cigarette. It was noted that he did not appear to be ‘aroused’ or performing any acts. Both witnesses were concerned but did not contact the police at the time.

Acebes’s behaviour continued into September 5 last year when he was seen standing at Grovepark Court, naked apart from a waist-length jacket, which he later removed, performing the same act.

As reported by the Evening Times in November, Acebes appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to public indecency, removing his clothes, exposing his genitals and performing a sex act.

The court heard how the accused, who appeared with an interpreter, had planned to return to his home country of Spain.

The case was deferred for a period of six weeks to allow the court to obtain a report assessing the level of risk Acebes posed of reoffending.

Returning last week to face a total of seven charges of public indecency, Acebes was fined £270 for three of the charges and admonished on four.
