Ex-Rangers legend Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne has issued a powerful message to online trolls who have been sending him abuse since he made a big return to social media this week.

The former Ibrox hero also urged his followers: “Always remember there’s always someone out there worse than us so make a difference and ask someone you know or even a stranger if they’re okay, make them feel special.”

Addressing the issue of trolls, the 50-year-old wrote: “Trolls will always post negative things but I not gonna let any of em get to me.

“I forgive you and still love you.”

He also highlighted how he’s jumped aboard the good deed train for the year, adding: “Last night I gave some money to a homeless man. It’s one of my good deeds, giving something back to society. Feel much better.”

He also joked about his ambitions to become a bus driver.

Gazza played for Rangers between 1995 and 1998. In recent years, however, he has become more known for his battle with drugs and alcoholism.

The Evening Times previously reported how the ex-footballer unveiled a healthy new look for 2018 this week as he came roaring back to life on Twitter and Instagram.

Having started the week with just 4,000 followers - and now sitting at almost 60,000 - he looked fresh-faced as he told his followers: “Don’t worry it’s me. Gazza’s back.”

The post went down well with many of his followers as dozens clamoured to commend him on looking well.
