A Glasgow community has banded together to come to the aid of a dog found wandering the streets covered in blood.
The alarm was raised in the Crookston and Pollok Community Facebook page on Thursday.
Alongside a picture of the injured animan, the post read: “Badly injured dog running around covered in blood. I have called police for help. It had ran into Penilee. Please repost.”
One Facebook user sought to shed more light on the incident.
She wrote: “There are people out looking for this dog along Paisley Road. It got knocked down outside Greggs at Cardonald. The woman told me the dog ran away. It yelped really loud and the staff from 3 Mile Vet came out to help.”
An SPCA Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the dog was taken to the SPCA Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Cardonald.
Animal rescue officer, Emma Bonner, told the Evening Times: “We received a call about an injured dog in the Glasgow area.
“The dog was brought to our Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre where we were able to get him checked over by a vet and given the all clear before reuniting him with his owner.”
