PLANS have been submitted for warehouses to be demolished and replaced with flats in Cardonald.

M. M Properties want to create 10 flats on the site in Maryland Gardens.

They propose to demolish existing warehouses with two residential buildings which would contain the 10 flats.

The planning application states: "Although the site is backland, it is currently occupied by a run down factory building and it is accepted that development for residential use could be an improvement on the existing situation in environmental terms.

"We previously proposed 15 units which was overdeveloped. We have reduced this to 10 flats which provides sufficient outdoor amenity space and parking."

It is proposed that six flats would be based at the front of the site and four to the rear.

The area surrounding the flats is residential and a decision is expected by March.
