A man has been arrested following an alleged attempted murder last year.

May 18 at 12.10am, the 37-year-old man was attacked in his car on Craighall Road near to Dobbie’s Loan at the slip road to the M8.

As reported by the Evening Times, the victim had been driving his dark blue Skoda Octavia south on Saracen Street when two cars began to pursue him at speed, forcing him to stop at the slip road where one of the occupants of the vehicles attacked him, with what is believed to have been a bladed weapon.

Following the incident, the vehicles made off in an easterly direction.

Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious facial wounds.

Two vehicles were recovered shortly after the incident: a black Audi vehicle was found in Forge Street, Germiston, and a silver Volkswagen vehicle was also found in Balmuildy Road, Bishopbriggs. Both had been set on fire.

Police said a 44-year-old man has been arrested and detained in custody in connection with the incident, following an intelligence-led operation in the Kent area.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
