A coroner has been admonished by a judicial watchdog for the second time in two months.
David Hinchliff, who oversees inquests in West Yorkshire, was rebuked by the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office (JCIO) in November for failing to tell his boss he had been given a six-month driving ban after committing a number of speeding offences.
Now he has been reprimanded for making “inappropriate” remarks to police and staff.
Last year, a JCIO spokesman said an inquiry had shown that Mr Hinchliff was disqualified in 2016 after accumulating 12 penalty points and had failed to “report the matter” to the Chief Coroner, Judge Mark Lucraft.
The spokesman said a separate investigation has now established that Mr Hinchliff “made inappropriate remarks on three occasions to police officers and members of staff”.
