A MULTI-AGENCY river search for a missing person has taken place in Glasgow city centre after a man was seen jumping in the water.

Emergency teams from Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service and Greenock Coastguard Rescue Team were called out to the River on Thursday.

The search was launched after midnight after a report was made that the man had jumped off the Victoria Bridge at 7am on Wednesday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland officers continue to search the surrounding areas of the banks of the River Clyde near to the Victoria Bridge after a man was seen to jump at around 7am on Wednesday."

Last week, we revealed police divers were scouring the River Clyde for missing Renfrew man Graham Clark.

The 54-year-old, who lives in Moorpark, Renfrew, was last seen by his mum at her home in Knightswood at around 6am on Tuesday, January 9.

Around 25 minutes later, police were called to a report of Mr Clark's car, a green Mazda, found abandoned on the southbound carriageway of the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.

Mr Clark is described as white, around 6ft in height and of medium build with light brown closely cut hair, and he was wearing glasses.

He still remains missing and enquiries are ongoing.
