THE pothole pictures are flooding in giving a picture of crumbling roads across the city.

Michelle Adams has been in touch to share her image of a pothole just off Lyon Cross Road in Pollok.

Using a water bottle to measure the crater, she tells us the hole ruined three tyres of her car and four alloys.

Rose Smith was out photographing road damage in the Gorbals, saying the area is littered with potholes.

She said: "There are quite a few in the Gorbals, in Cavendish Street, Abbotsford Place, Wellcroft Place, Surrey Street and Cumberland Street.

"They all seem to all around our area, as there is lot of work being completed, and there is a lot of heavy vehicles in these areas."

Michelle is just one of our readers who has been in touch as part of our #spothole campaign.

We are offering new tyres up to the value of £1000 for the reader who tells us about Glasgow's biggest pothole.

Brian Duffy expressed his frustration at dodging potholes in three areas around Glasgow that he travels regularly.

He said: "The council is a disgrace.

"Three areas that I travel every day are of major concern.

Linthaugh Road between Brockburn Road and Bonnyholm Road, Pollok, on both sides of the dual carriageway is full of potholes that have been there for over two years and growing now by the day.

"The council were on Brockburn Road a couple of days ago and the work they performed on the potholes there was basically an infill.

"The tarmac infill on these repairs has already started to come loose.

"Crookston Road between Barrhead Road and Paisley Road West is full of potholes and again getting worse each day.

"Langlands Road between Shieldhall Road and Skipness Drive is one of the worse sections of road I have seen over the past two years.

"What is the use of the infill of a pothole? They are sending squads out to repair the same potholes three, four and five times."

In the city centre Bill Beckett couldn't believe his eyes at the potholes in Garnethill.

Bill said: "In Garnethill there was deep snowfall and a deep pothole in centre crossroads of Buccleuch Street and Scott Street covered by the snow.

"The pothole has been there for several weeks yet not seen by the council but they say they have inspectors out and about checking areas for such issues and others.

"Tonight there is no sign of a gritter yet the council states that main carriageways and hills are a priority - so what's happened here near a primary and nursery school?

"I'm disgusted in the service and misuse of taxpayers money not just here but throughout the city."

What is your response? These are 2 together on Royston Rd at St Philamena’s Chapel. I ran over them in the dark Tuesday night 9th January. As you can see they are huge and filled with water which makes it even harder to see, at least 3” of water another 2” to road level = 5”deep. Something needs to be done. Im raging as my Road Tax is due Febuary, what are we paying it for.
