BLOOD donors in Glasgow are being urged to come forward due to dwindling stocks.
The decline in donations is being attributed in part to the ongoing cold snap leaving regular donors unable to travel to donate couple with an increase in hospital admissions.
The Glasgow Blood Donor Centre will be opening on Sunday in an effort to increase supplies.
In particular, the centre is in need of donors who are A positive and O positive.
This has resulted in stock levels for the two in-demand blood groups being far lower than is needed to help seriously-ill patients this winter.
The centre will be open from 11am-4pm and can be found at 8 Nelson Mandela Place Glasgow.
