A dog owner says she had a hard time getting her beloved pooch to drop a sex toy which it picked up on their daily walk.

Sophie McGrattan, 21, was left "absolutely mortified" when her pooch picked up the sex aid in a park.

She said a group of builders began heckling her and pointed out that her dog had something in its mouth while she was on the phone.

But nine-month-old Cocker Spaniel Bella kept on chewing on the toy and wouldn't let go -- while Sophie tried to remove it without touching it.

Flight attendant Sophie said: "It was so embarrassing. My poor wee dog.

"I was on the phone to my friend but had to hang up when the builders started shouting at me.

Glasgow Times:

"They said that my dog had something in its mouth that it shouldn't have.

"I think she had it in her mouth for about 10 minutes and must have picked it up in the park.

"I didn't want to touch the toy so I tried kicking it out of her mouth. An elderly woman thought I was abusing Bella and I couldn't tell her why I was doing it.

"She would have had the shock of her life if I told her why I was kicking.

"I'm definitely going to have to change my walking route because I've got no idea what's going on round that way.

"I was pure raging at Bella for a while. I was absolutely mortified. I didn't want to look at her but I soon realised it wasn't her fault. She didn't know what it was.

"I was driving to work this morning and saw that the sex toy was still lying where we left it. I hope no one else picks it up.

"She normally has cuddly toys to play with. This is the first and hopefully the last time that this will happen."

The hilarious incident happened in Paisley on Thursday.
