A DALMUIR man who launched into a foul-mouthed tirade after his mother's wedding cannot remember his drink-fuelled outburst.

Allan Kernaghan, 31, lost his rag with police officers for no reason – branding them "f****** black b*******".

He called one a "mother******* b****" and made homophobic remarks, shouting: "You bunch of p****."

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Kernaghan pleaded guilty to acting in an aggressive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering remarks that were aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation within Dyke Road on September 30 last year.

Defending, Kernaghan's lawyer stated that his client had abstained from alcohol prior to the incident. On the night of his mum's wedding, a lesser amount of drink seemed to have had a greater effect to which the accused had no recollection of his outburst.

Kernaghan – whose offending was said to have "dramatically slowed down" – now realises that he has to cut out alcohol to avoid getting himself into trouble.

Sheriff Mary McCrory warned the accused: "Custody is a very real prospect for you given your history."

Instead, Kernaghan, of Glendevon Place, was sentenced to a Restriction of Liberty Order in which he will have to remain at home between the hours of 7pm and 6am for the next three months. He was also handed a Community Payback Order with 200 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
