Glasgow is set for another subzero night as temperatures continue to drop across the country.

According to the Met Office temperatures will remain very cold this evening with extremes of -8°C and a widespread hard frost.

By early morning a band of snow is expected to edge its way from the south towards Glasgow.

On Sunday a band of rain and snow will continue to spread northeast, with a few hours of snow likely, then turning to rain at low levels and later across high ground.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, police have issued travel advice for those heading out in Glasgow this evening as the temperature continues to drop below freezing.

A yellow Met Office warning for ice means journeys should be planned ahead and travel delays should be expected.

People using public transport are also advised to check with the provider for any disruption or cancellation to services.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "If you're out during the evening and planning on drinking alcohol, make sure you have your journey home organised.

"Book a taxi in advance and keep up to date with transport providers to ensure services are running."

If you are heading out tonight make sure to follow police advice and wrap up warm.
