A GLASGOW social worker who illegally claimed more than £67,000 of benefits has been formally struck off the register.
Deborah Carmichael, from Knightswood, submitted a claim to the Department of Work and Pensions in 2004 for mental and physical illnesses.
But she failed report the changes in her circumstances the following year when she returned to work.
She was jailed for a year on October 24, 2017, after Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Carmichael falsely claimed £67,247 between August 2005 and March 2016.
Her registration as a social worker has now been terminated following a hearing by the Scottish Social Services Council.
