POLICE are appealing for information after a driver was attacked by a group of men with weapons in Anniesland.

The 22-year-old man was driving a silver Renault Scenic car on Fulton Street, near to where it meets with Tambowie Street, when he was involved in a crash with a black car around 5.30pm on Tuesday January 23.

Several men then exited the car and attacked the victim with weapons.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Detective Constable Jennifer Adams from Drumchapel CID said: “From our enquiries so far it appears that this was a targeted attack.

“This type of violent and reckless behaviour will not be tolerated and it is vital that anyone who may be able to assist our investigation comes forward.

“If you were in the area on Tuesday evening and witnessed the incident, or noticed either vehicle on the road, please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Drumchapel CID via 101, quoting incident number 2669 of Tuesday 23 January 2018. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
