COPS are searching for a missing man who has been going through a difficult time.

Steven McKenzie, 31, was seen around 8pm on Friday, January 19 leaving his friend’s house in Campion Road, Motherwell.

Steven had been staying with his friend and is believed to have returned to the house on Thursday, January 25 to leave a key.

From enquiries so far, officers have confirmed a sighting of Steven on CCTV at the Tesco petrol station filling up his silver Toyota Auris in Bellshill around 3am on Friday, January 26.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace Steven and officers are urging anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact them.

Steven is described as white, 5ft 10 inches, of medium build, with short brown hair and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a grey Nike hoodie, a grey Celtic t-shirt and grey Nike Air Max trainers.

Sergeant Brian Scanlan, from Motherwell Police Station, said: “Steven has been going through a difficult time lately and his family and friends are concerned about him.

“He is known to spend time in the Barrhead and Stirling areas and I would appeal to anyone who recognises Steven or has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact the police.

“I would also appeal to Steven directly to please get in touch with someone to confirm he is safe, his friends and family are anxious to know that he is ok.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Motherwell Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3387 of Thursday 25 January 2018.”
