THE body of a 48-year-old man has been found on a street near a war memorial.
The discovery was made on Mulvey Crescent in Airdrie at 8.15am today.
The area has been taped off as forensic officers investigate the unexplained death.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 8.15am, the body of a 48-year-old man was found near the war memorial on Mulvey Crescent in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause."
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
