A MAN has been left with 'life changing' injuries after an assault in Wishaw.

The 47-year-old was attacked around 11.55pm on Friday January 26 by a number of men on North Dryburgh Road, near to Louden Street.

Emergency serviced took to the man to Wishaw General where his injuries have been described as life changing.

Police Officers believe there may have been a number of other men involved in the attack on the 47 year-old, who all fled the scene.

Near to where the man was found, an empty silver coloured BMW was found crashed into a wall on Louden Street and another vehicle, a white Mercedes A Class, which had been set on fire, was found on Wishaw Low Road.

Officers believe that these vehicles and the injured man are linked.

Door to door enquiries and examining CCTV footage have been carried and cops are now appealing to the public for information.

Detective Inspector Kenny Dalrymple, Wishaw Police Office, said: “The attack on this man was callous and brutal and has left him with serious injuries. It is vital that we find those responsible.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and seen either of the cars, or a group of people running from the area.

“Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may have seemed at the time, to come forward and contact us.

"Anyone with information should contact Wishaw Police Office via 101, quoting incident number 4680 of Friday 26 January 2018. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
