A devastated pet owner is begging for answers after her beloved dog was POISONED with drug-laced meat.

Grieving owner Vicki Johnson, 32, is baffled why the meat was thrown over her garden fence and wants answers.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the piece of meat, laced with three paracetamol tablets, thrown over the fence by an unknown culprit on Saturday January 20.

The next morning, Jack Russell Bailey can be seen running over and unwittingly eating the meat.

Just hours later the six-year-old pooch tragically died after his blood was poisoned by the drug.

Horrified Vicki said: "Why? What did he do?

"We didn't notice anything was wrong with him until the afternoon.

"He couldn't walk, was throwing up and was very poorly.

"We rushed him to the emergency vets and they told us he had been poisoned by eating paracetamols.

"They took blood tests to find out why he was so ill.

"He is my baby and I feel like I have been robbed of my family.

"They've taken my little baby."

Vicki, from Doncaster, South Yorks., has no idea why anyone would have carried out the cruel act.

She added: "We have had no arguments, no quarrels, we don't know why this has happened.

"It has gone viral on social media especially Facebook and I just want to know why someone would do that?

"We have had him since he was a pup and it has made it so much worse.

"I can't have children myself so I treated Bailey as my baby.

"It has been so difficult for the family."

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 7pm on Friday 19 January it was reported a dog at a property on Croasdake Garden, Doncaster, had passed away after consuming a piece of meat it had found under the garden gate of the property.

"It is thought the meat contained Paracetamol, which subsequently led to the dogs death.

"An investigation is ongoing into the incident and anyone with information is asked to report it via 101 quoting reference 14/29987/18."
