AN UDDINGSTON hairdresser has landed a top spot on the prestigious Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team.

Misha McLean, of Rainbow Room International, was put through her paces in an intense judging process which took place at Easton Regal Hairdressing in London where hopeful young stylists were assessed on their live cutting and styling work, presentation skills and potential for team work.

Judges included top hairdressing legends and industry magazine editors, and Misha was delighted to secure her spot on the team.

She said: “I’m so thrilled to have secured a place on the Schwarzkopf Professional YAT Team, as it’s one of the most sought after creative teams in the industry.

"It’s also a fantastic opportunity for me to develop and learn new skills in the industry and work alongside some really great leading people within the industry too.”

The national competition is open to those aged 25 and under and successful applicants are given the opportunity to work for a year under the wing of Schwarzkopf Professional’s premier hairdressers and technicians. Misha and the team can look forward to exciting opportunities such as their very own photoshoot, training from Schwarzkopf’s renowned ambassadors, stage presentations and a wealth of education sessions.

The team will be led by YAT managers Catherine Adams and Jamie Farrar.

Catherine said: “The overall standard for all competitors was exceptionally high and the panel of esteemed judges from the industry had an extremely hard decision to make.”

Jamie added: “There’s a lot of amazing people in the team and the judges did a fantastic job. It’s going to be a great year.”
