A RUNNER is in a serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a car close to Strathclyde Park.

The 37-year-old man was walking on the footpath at a roundabout on Mary Rae Road, Bellshill when he was struck by a silver Volkswagen Up which was being driven by a 72 year-old woman.
