A DRUNK who had broke up with his girlfriend went on a rampage and ended up locking himself in the bathroom of a 76-year-old woman's home.

Marcin Kudanawski, 27, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court with a Polish interpreter after pleading guilty to the offence.

Kudanawski, of Kestrel Road, Knightswood, admitted that entered the 76-year-old woman's home in Thornley Avenue, locked himself in the bathroom and placed her in a state of fear and alarm.

The charge also stated that he opened the doors of passing cars at Alderman Road and Thornley Avenue placing the occupants in a state of fear and alarm prior to entering the woman's home.

The offence occurred on November 4, last year.

The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that Kudanawski first struck at around 4.45pm. A woman was sitting at traffic lights and he approached the car, and attempted to open the door. The woman asked him to stop what he was doing. He then approached another car and attempted to open the door.

Kudanawski then went to the home of the woman who opened her door.

He ran past her and shouted police. He entered the woman's kitchen where he took his trainers off. He then locked himself in the bathroom and police were called.

Kudanawski's defence agent said: "It is a really bizarre situation. He broke up with his girlfriend and he had taken medication and alcohol.

"He can give no good reason for it. When he sobered up, he realised the embarrassment he caused himself."

The court heard that Kudanawski came to the UK two years ago and now works as a delivery driver.

His defence agent added: "It is an isolated yet troubling matter. I do not think there is any underlying issues."

Sentencing sheriff Gerard Bonnar said he would treat the incident as isolated and ordered Kudanawski to complete unpaid work in the community.

He was handed 150 hours of unpaid work within nine months.
