PLANS to turn an off licence into a hot food take-away in Glasgow’s West End have been rejected following objections.
City planners refused a bid to turn the shop, formerly known as Hippo Beers, on Queen Margaret Drive into a hot food take-away.
Hippo Bears, which was Glasgow’s first speciality beer store, went into liquidation last July.
The local authority received objections from North Kelvin Community Council and a local resident.
They were opposing the plans over fears of additional noise, smell, litter and waste having a detrimental impact on residential amenity. There was also concerns over pressure on car parking.
