Rangers legend Nacho Novo delighted fans when he popped by his Glasgow pub on Sunday night to watch the football.

The 38-year-old was in good spirits after suffering a heart attack in Berlin last month.

The star was only happy to swing by his NN10 Bar and Lounge in Paisley Road and pose for some pictures with staff, customers and his model girlfriend, 33-year-old Stephanie Heaney.

Last week, Novo’s other half vowed to raise as much money as possible for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

Urging people to donate, she said: “Nacho’s lucky to have lots of support and people around him who love him and he’s such a strong, amazing person. I, unfortunately, lost my grandad recently. He passed away having had three strokes and it affected his life and the family’s in a massive way.

“I have decided to climb Ben Lomond on May 1. Hopefully, Nacho is fit enough to join me. I will be doing lots in between to raise as much as I can.”

Novo was featuring for Rangers in the AOK Traditionsmasters 2018 in Berlin when he was taken ill on January 6 after they had been knocked out of the round-robin tournament.

He was rushed to hospital from the Max-Schmeling-Halle arena before undergoing emergency surgery.

The Ibrox side was among those to confirm shortly after that Novo, who played at Ibrox between 2004 and 2010, was in a stable condition.

The Evening Times previously reported how dozens of vile trolls quickly flooded social media site Twitter with cruel comments aimed at Novo.

Many of the comments echo a “song” which has been sung and aimed at the 38-year-old in the past.

It contains the lyrics: “I hope you die in your sleep Nacho Novo, I hope you die in your sleep, I pray…”

One tweet said: “I hope you die in your sleep nacho novo.......”

Another Twitter user wrote: “Hope you die within a week nacho novo!”

“Nacho novo , won't see ten in a row,” was another tweet to have emerged.

Charity Nil By Mouth was among those to quickly condemn the trolls.
