Cube Housing Association is carrying out major improvements to 680 properties in Broomhill, one of the area's most sought after residential districts.
Work on the social housing -which include three eight- storey blocks, five 18-storey blocks and low-rise maisonettes - has already started, and is expected to be complete by early 2015.
The upgrade works will include installing insulated overcladding on the outside of the buildings, a new communal satellite TV system, a district heating scheme in the blocks, as well as a new controlled entry system at the low-rise homes in the estate.
Tenants in the homes - which were refurbished internally two years ago - already benefit from the security of 24-hour CCTV and a caretaker service.
David MacKenzie, Cube's Head of Housing, said: "Broomhill is one of the most popular parts of Glasgow, and upgrading these blocks will help improve the look of the whole area.
"The insulated overcladding and district heating scheme will help cut tenants' fuel bills, and the investment work will make tenants' homes warmer, drier, safer and more comfortable."
The Broomhill flats are a short walk from Victoria Park and Scotstoun Leisure Centre, while Partick Subway station and Hyndland train station are just minutes away.
The work will see 480 multi-storey properties, 74 flats in the eight-storey blocks and 23 maisonette flats being renovated.
Cube Housing Association, along with sister organisation Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), is part of the Wheatley Group.
The association was launched in 1990 and has 3300 homes for social rent across seven local authority areas in the West of Scotland.
It previously carried out a £27m regeneration of nearly 1900 homes on the Wyndford estate in Maryhill and has since built more than 600 new houses.
The Scottish Government has pledged to provide an "affordable home" for all by 2020.
In 2011, it set a target of building 6000 new affordable homes a year, 4000 of which were to be social homes.
However, in a report earlier this year Audit Scotland said that the supply of housing was not keeping pace with levels of need, and the Government needs to clarify how it will work with councils and others in the housing sector to make sure its targets are met.
