RESIDENTS are outraged after fire bugs damaged a football pitch in Castlemilk.
Barlia Pitches were set on fire last night causing damage to the grounds.
Games planned for this morning were cancelled as a result and the pitch will be unusable “for a right good while”.
Those living in the area have voiced their anger and are appealing to track down whoever was responsible for the fire.
Margaret Ferry said: "Awful, absolutely disgusting."
Annie Bennett said: "Totally shocking totally no respect for anything in their own community."
Jessie Higgins added: "How much longer are they going to get away with this?
"Bins have been getting stolen and burnt round the back of the jeely for the past couple of years, now the football pitch. What next?"
While the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service did not attend on the evening, they have warned about the dangers of fireraising.
