Motorists travelling through the city centre have been warned to expect delays as work begins on two busy routes.

Work has begun on Cathedral Street, reducing traffic to one lane in either direction at the junction with Stirling Road.

In order to install the new district heating system for Strathclyde University, the restrictions will be in place until April 8.

Delays are to be expected, especially at peak times.

In order to install sewer connections for the new Housing development on Monteith Row, temporary traffic signals will be in place on London Road at Bain Street.

London Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Kent Street and Bain Street.

Works began on Monday and are expected to be complete by Monday March 5.

Elsewhere, tree pruning works means Sandyhills Road in Mount Vernon, will be closed between Criffell Road and Killin Street from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Monday and Tuesday with delays also predicted.
