AN armed robber with his face hooded held up a Chinese takeaway in a "terrifying ordeal" for staff.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the raid on Louise's Kitchen in Johnstone on Sunday, February 18.

Around 9pm a man entered the Greenend Avenue takeaway and threatened the female staff member with a weapon.

He demanded she hand over cash before running off in the direction of Ryefield Avenue.

The man is described as 5ft10in and was wearing dark coloured clothing with the hood pulled up to cover his face.

Detective Constable Derek Johnston from Paisley CID said: “Thankfully the female member of the staff was not hurt during the incident but it was still a terrifying ordeal for her.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area around 9pm and noticed a man matching the above description, or anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Paisley CID via 101, quoting incident number 3861 of Sunday, January 18 2018.
