A MAN is in custody after a disturbance in Govan sparked a massive police incident.

Several police vehicles and ambulances rushed to Harhill Street around 8.30pm on Monday evening.

Five ambulances were present at the scene as well as several incident response units.

The operation was later stood down and one man, 55, was taken into custody in relation to the disturbance while another, 44, was taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland, said: "A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged serious assault.

“Officers were called to a property in Harhill St, Govan around 2030 hrs on Monday 19 February 2018 following a report of a disturbance within a house.

“A 44-year old man was treated for an injury to his back within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital before being discharged.

“The 50-year–old man is due before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday 21 February 2018. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

“The 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with an alleged breach of the peace. He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
