A KIND-HEARTED schoolboy has given his teacher a letter after she was devastated about the loss of her pet dog.

Heartbroken teacher Gemma Dunne was 'stressing' about returning to St Michael’s Primary School in the city’s Parkhead after her beloved Charlie was put to sleep.

But one of her pupil’s, known as Callum, managed to cheer her up with a touching letter about the dog when she got back to the classroom.

The P5 schoolboy even wrote an acrostic poem to pay tribute to tragic Charlie.

Sharing images of the letter on the social media website Twitter, Gemma’s daughter Lucie, said: “Mum’s been so upset about the dog being put to sleep and stressing about having to go back into school today, and she got this from a wee boy in her class.”

Adorable Callum apologised if the letter made his teacher emotional and he even said the pet was a “great dog”.

He said: “To Mrs Dunne, sorry if you don’t like it or it makes you emotional.

“I’m sorry about your dog. I want to say that your dog was cheeky, happy, adorable, relative, lucky, incredible and energetic.

“But most of all I know your dog was special and your dog is in a better place and is looking over you.

“Charlie was a great dog. From Callum.”

The post has gone viral with thousands of retweets and likes.

One Twitter user said: “Whoever Callum’s parents are they need a good pat on the back for raising a lovely, thoughtful child.”

Layla Medina added: “So sad to hear about the dog but bless little Callum!

“I hope that he stays sweet even when he grows up, the world needs people like him.

“His parents are bringing him up well.”

Ian Kirwan wrote: “There’s hope for us yet with pupils as thoughtful and sweet as Callum in this world.”

Even celebrity Sue Perkins waded in, saying the post had broken her.
