A GYMNASTICS team from Clydebank have been forced to launch a fundraising campaign after a thief stole 'irreplaceable' costumes.

A group of 70 gymnasts from Dynamite Gymnastics, aged between seven and 23, were targeted during a trip to Manchester where they were performing at Gymfusion in the Lowry Theatre.

Disaster struck when their brand new custom made costumes were stolen from their bus, leaving them with no outfits to perform in for the rest of the year.

Fortunately a team from Manchester provided the girls with leotards to see them through the competition which they had been training for for more than a year.

Since returning to Glasgow, the group has set up a fundraising page which has raised nearly £1,500 to replace the stolen goods.

The page, started by Alannah Connolly, says: "These costumes take time to make and that is something we just don‘t have while waiting on any insurance money to replace these.

"I wonder if you could even spare just a few pounds to help these amazing and talented children go out there and do what they love and do best!"
