A LOLLIPOP lady has been robbed a knifepoint while on her way to work.

The 36-year-old woman was outside the Mill Inn on Millgate Road, Hamilton, around 3.30pm on February 20 when she was approached by two men.

The men - who had rotten teeth - threatened her with a knife before robbing her of a two figure sum of cash before making off along Millgate Road.

The first man is described as 5ft 5, of skinny build with a shaved head and rotten teeth. He was wearing a black tracksuit top, a white t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is described as 5ft 5, of heavy build with short dark hair and rotten teeth. He was wearing a black tracksuit top, a grey t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

The lollipop lady was not injured during the incident.

Detective Constable David MacMillan from Cambuslang CID said: “These two despicable individuals preyed on a lollipop lady right in the middle of the school run and thankfully no children were beside her at the time.

“The area will have been busy with people collecting children from school and I would appeal to anyone who noticed these two men beside the lollipop lady, or in the surrounding area, to please get in touch.

“I would also ask any motorists with dashcams who were in the area around 3.30pm yesterday to come forward in case they have captured the incident or the suspects making off from the scene.
