IRN-BRU have branded those moaning about their new ad slogan "can'ts".

Taking to Twitter yesterday, the drinks giant repeated their controversial slogan - "Don't be a can't, be a can" - despite backlash from angry viewers.

One Twitter user replied: "Oooh the easily offended brigade won't be happy!"

To which Irn-Bru responded "can'ts".

The AG Barr makers, however, deny name calling.

A Barr spokeswoman said: “The tweet intended to say there are those that can enjoy the ads, and those that can’t. No name calling was meant.”

The brand's new advert has been met with fierce criticism since it aired pre-watershed last week.

Viewers were quick to point out the word "can't" was a referencing a swear word.

The fizzy drink firm determined it was just part of the brand's tongue-in-cheek humour.

The Advertising Standards Authority said: “The general nature of the complaints are that the ad is offensive and in poor taste and is unsuitable to be shown before the watershed.
