Meghan Markle has left one of her biggest fans buzzing after she grabbing her hand and describing her flashy fingernails as "fantastic".

Meghan, 36. spotted Ashleigh Meikle and her remarkable pink nails in a crowd during her visit to Edinburgh earlier this month.

She grabbed fan Ashleigh's hand to get a closer look at her glamorous pink manicure.

In a video posted to Instagram, the American actress and bride-to-be of Prince Harry said: "Wow, look at your nails. That's pretty fantastic.

"They're very valentines-y."

Ashleigh, 25, got her nails done at Notorious Nails in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.

The dentist from Bo'ness hoped to catch a glimpse of the couple while on her lunch break and got more than she bargained for at Edinburgh Castle.

She said: "I was just filming in the hope that I could get a glimpse of the two of them and before I know it Meghan is grabbing my hand to get a closer look at my nails.

"I love Meghan. I think she's really charismatic and going to be a great addition to the Royal Family.

"I told Ashley as soon as it happened. I was so incredibly excited for her. I always go to her to get my nails done - she's the best.

"Everyone thinks I'm mad for travelling through to Coatbridge after work to get them done but it definitely seems to be worth it."

Ashley Toner, 29, has only been working as a nail technician for a year after quitting her job as a dental nurse.

The mum-of-two was delighted that the future Royal was full of praise for her handiwork.

Ashley said: "My client asked me on Instagram if I liked the Royal Family and thinking nothing of it I simply said 'yes'.

"She then said that Meghan Markle complimented my nails and I still thought she was just being nice and didn't realise there was a video of her saying it.

"I put my phone down and came back to it an hour later with loads of missed calls and messages. It was surreal.

"I know it's not going to change the world or anything but it is validation that I made the right decision to start doing nails.

"Meghan Markle is a proper respectable celebrity so for her to like them is great. It makes me feel dead good about myself.

"I've only been doing this for a year and this is the best thing to happen to me in my new career so far. I want to keep pushing myself and this is a good building block."

Notorious Nails cheekily posted on Facebook that they were available to help the Royal couple on their big day.

They wrote: "Our day (no our lives) are actually made. Our nails got the Royal seal of approval. Can someone let her know we're available for wedding day nails?"
