A SUPPORT service for people affected by cancer is coming direct to patients.
The Macmillan Cancer Support bus will visit five locations over five days throughout Lanarkshire to offer free specialist information and support.
Staffed by health professionals, the bus, will visit Cumbernauld, Motherwell, Wishaw, Hamilton and East Kilbride between Monday Feburary 26 and Friday, March 2.
The team will be offering specialist cancer information and emotional support, as well as advice on the signs and symptoms of cancer to look out for.
Around 600 people in Scotland are diagnosed with cancer every week and 220,000 people are living with the illness across the country.
Craig Blackwood, Radiographer and Cancer Information and Support Specialist said: “A diagnosis of cancer is devastating, and we know it’s not always easy to know where to go for information or to find someone to talk to. That’s why we’re coming.”
