CHARITIES across Scotland are to share in a cash pot of £2.9 million.
Two West Dunbartonshire charities will benefit from £533,726 from the National Lottery funding.
And Martin Docherty-Hughes, SNP MP for West Dunbartonshire, has welcomed the success of the local community projects.
Dumbarton Area Council on Alcohol (DACA) has been awarded £389,172 to introduce a programme of health and wellbeing activities for people affected by alcohol misuse.
Clydebank-based Community Links Scotland has received £144,554 to support its Volunteer in Progress Programme, which provides people with training and volunteering activities.
Mr Docherty-Hughes MP said: “It’s great news that these local community projects have been successful in securing over half a million pounds of funding from Big Lottery Scotland.
“Both DACA and Community Links Scotland undertake important work in our communities.
