COPS searching for a missing man who vanished two weeks ago have conducted an operation near the River Leven.

Mark, 48, from the Haldane area of Alexandria, was reported missing on Tuesday, February 13 by a family member although it is believed that the last possible sighting of him was around 4pm on Friday, February 9 in the Alexandria area.

Cops held a stop and speak operation and spoke to numerous members of the public in the vicinity of Alexander Street and India Street, Alexandria to glean more information about Mark's whereabouts.

Inspector David Quinn, of Dumbarton Police Office, said: "The operation was carried out to gain any additional information which could assist us in locating Mark.

"Mark hasn’t been heard from for two weeks and his family and friends are understandably concerned.

"Mark was last seen walking towards the River Leven footpath, near to Alexander Street, Alexandria on Friday, February 9 around 4pm.

“Officers spoke with 30 people in this operation and the information gathered will be assessed and followed up as required.

“I continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Mark or who has any information regarding his whereabouts to please contact us.”

Mark is described as around 5ft 10 inches, of slim build, with short greying brown hair and blue eyes. He has lost a significant amount of weight in the last few weeks so may appear thinner than usual to those who know him.

When last seen, he was believed to be wearing a blue and grey Firetrap jacket, blue jeans and black boots.
