ROYAL Mail has exceeded it regulatory First Class mail target in the G postcode area.

The firm’s Quality of Service report for the first nine months of the 2017/18 financial year reveals it has exceeded the target of 93.0 per cent in the G postcode area, with 93.4 per cent of this mail delivered the next working day.

Nationally, First Class mail was behind its regulatory target over the nine months leading up to December 3, 2017.

A total of 92.5 per cent of First Class mail was delivered the next working day, against a target of 93.0 per cent.

In the third quarter of the year, 91.5 per cent of First Class mail was delivered the next working day.

Royal Mail exceeded its Second Class mail target of 98.5 per cent for the first nine months, delivering 98.7 per cent of this mail within three working days.

Royal Mail is the only UK mail delivery company required to publish Quality of Service performance against delivery targets every quarter. It has one of the highest Quality of Service specifications of any major European country.

The latest quarterly report for the nine months leading up to 3 December 2017 was published today on Royal Mail’s website.
