A colourful parrot has been spotted perched on a tree in Crosshill.
Gayle Rose, shared an image of the parrot on a community Facebook page, in a bid to find out if anyone knew who the animal's owner is.
The post has been flooded with comments, some even claiming that the parrot has been loose for months.
Sam Forbes said: "It will be too cold for it this evening, hope someone goes and gets it."
Jennifer Aitken added: "It's been on the loose for months. I don't know how the poor thing hasn't died."
Gary Cushway also wrote: "I think they may be coming more common in the wild as more escape custody and manage to survive out and about. They do ok down south."
The Evening Times reported last month on how a parrot was spotted near a school in Glasgow.
When the RSPB were called, they claimed there was nothing that they could do because the animal is healthy and thriving.
