COPS are now hunting for the person responsible for leaving a suspicious item in a close between houses in Uddingston.
It comes after the bomb squad were called to Myrtle Road in the town at around 3.55pm on Sunday.
They received a report of a suspicious item found in a close between houses.
Police attended and as a precaution some residents were evacuated and the EOD were called to attend to examine the item found. They attended and made the item safe.
The force would not reveal the nature of the item left and no one was injured during this incident.
Detective Sergeant Diane Barr, of Wishaw Police Office, said: “Our enquiries are continuing today to trace whoever is responsible for leaving this item in the close and their motive.
“Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area and are checking through CCTV footage to gather more information. At this time I would urge anyone who saw anyone in the area acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident, or has any information that may assist our investigation to contact Wishaw Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 2648 of 25th February. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
