The bodies of three people have been pulled from the River Clyde in less than 24 hours, police have confirmed.

The grim discoveries were made between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

Police confirmed that the body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde in Govan, around 10.15am on Tuesday.

A second man was discovered around an hour later, near to the Riverboat Casino on Broomielaw.

Officers had previously removed a body around 1.30pm on Monday afternoon close to the Squiggly Bridge.

Formal identification of any of the bodies is yet to take place but police do not believe they are linked.

Last month, police recovered the bodies of three missing men within days of each other.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, the body of Graham McAdam, 42, was found in the River Clyde in Erskine after a seven-week search to find him.

The body of James O'Connor, known as Jock, was recovered from the River Kelvin after being spotted by a member of the public on January 3. 

On January 4, 21-year-old Thomas Keenan was recovered from the Forth and Clyde Canal near to Ruchill Street in Maryhill.
