A Man has been left with a serious facial injury after he left a pub in Carluke.

Cops are hunting for attacker, who was wearing a shiny blue puffa jacket, after he struck at around 12.45am on Sunday.

Two men and two women left the Gallery Pub in Kirkton Street in the town. As they were waiting outside they were approached by two or three men who attacked the two 40-year-old men, resulting in one man, sustaining a serious facial injury.

The injured man made his way to Wishaw hospital. The two women were uninjured in the incident. The second man did not require to go to hospital.

Officers are continuing door-to-door enquiries and are in the process of gathering CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information.

Detective Ross McLenaghan said: “The motive for the attack is unknown and one man has been left with a serious injury and remains in hospital.

"I am appealing to people who may have been in the bar around the time of the incident or anyone who may have been in the area, who may have seen or heard something.

"I would also appeal to local residents who may have information regarding this incident to contact us with any information no matter how insignificant it seems, it could lead to us tracing the men responsible for this attack.”
