TELLY babe Hayley McQueen hit out after she was caught up in the chaos at Glasgow Airport caused by the Beast from the East storm.

The Sky Sports presenter was one of the hundreds of passengers whose flight was postponed after the city airport was force to close just before 3pm on Wednesday.

The central belt was put on red alert for the first time ever with Scots being urged not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

It meant the glamorous star, 38, was stranded in the city with all Scottish premier football matches axed.

Hayley, who replaced pundit David Tanner last summer, criticised the icy waits faced by the elderly and people with babies.

Posting on social media, she said: “Absolute chaos at Glasgow airport, everything cancelled, limited taxis to say the least.

“People have been waiting over two hours in a taxi queue, others including babies and the elderly queuing for over an hour for a bus outside in the heavy snow.”

She, however, received a backlash from social media users about the outburst and added it was a 'shame' the airport was struggling to cope.

Hayley, whose dad is former Man United star Gordon, said: “Stop having a go at me people.

“Using Twitter to paint a picture of what’s happening – simple, people have landed into Glasgow unaware of the problems here.

“Many are supposed to be getting on connecting flights, it’s just a shame the airport is struggling to cope.

“Stay safe everyone.”

She later headed along the M8 and told her fans there was not a car in sight.

A spokesman for Glasgow Airport said: “Due to continued severe weather conditions and the large number of flights which airlines have had to cancel, there will be no further flights to or from Glasgow Airport for the remainder of the day.

“Further heavy snowfall is forecast and we will provide updates regarding tomorrow’s scheduled services later this evening.

“We would advise passengers not to travel to the airport and anyone with travel plans should contact their airline directly for specific flight information.”
