A DESPERATE dad has appealed for volunteers to help clear the playground at his daughter's school, for kids with learning disabilities. The man is trying all he can to ensure that the grounds at Merkland School in Kirkintilloch are ready for the children returning on Monday. Much of the children have very limited mobility or are scared of it, but would need to get around the playground to various classes. Jerry Luddington posted on Facebook: "This is an urgent plea. Our daughter attends Merkland Learning Disabilities School. "Unfortunately her and her classmates need to ask for your help. The school hopes to reopen tomorrow but kids need to get around the playground to different classes etc. "The playgrounds are snow covered and need the help of a snow plough to clear. "Has anyone got an hour they could spare today. "Failing that would any of you kind people be willing to meet me there to do a dig out please get in touch. "Kids would be really grateful as some with very limited mobility or scared of it."
