THERE'S just two days to go until the Maryhill Window Wanderland.

It follows hot on the heels of the hugely successful Strathbungo Window Wanderland that attracted hundreds of people to the South Side of the city.

Maryhill's event is on Sunday, March 10 in the Maryhill Park area from 6.30pm to 9pm.

And the evening has already attracted political praise with Bob Doris MSP raising a motion in the Scottish Parliament.

He tweeted: "@MaryhillPark are having a Window Wanderland on Saturday 10 March.

"I look forward to attending and supporting this great community event."

The motion before Holyrood reads: "That the Parliament applauds Friends of Maryhill Park for organising activities to promote its forthcoming Window Wanderland, including a Window Wanderland Workshop, to help residents of Maryhill Park prepare for the event on 10 March 2018; commends the group's efforts to prepare for the event, including cleaning the local area in preparation; understands that Window Wanderland encourages artistic expression from local residents and asks them to display artwork directly onto their windows to allow those in the surrounding area to walk through their neighbourhood and appreciate the creativity and efforts of their friends and neighbours; commends those involved for their longstanding and ongoing efforts to enhance community and promote diversity through local art, and looks forward to a successful Window Wanderland event."

Residents in Maryhill are inviting neighbours and the wider community to wander the streets and look at their home-made art exhibition.

Homes have already signed up for the Maryhill Window Wanderland Trail, which as been organised by volunteer group Friends of Maryhill Park.

Window Wanderland workshops were held by artists in Maryhill Burgh Halls.

Maps of the route will be available to collect from the halls and at various venues on Caldercuilt Road on the day.
