A POLICE appeal for man cops believe was involved in a serious assault has led to a less than serious response.
Punters have inundated a police appeal with comments comparing a suspect to Jim Carrey’s character in Dumb and Dumber
Hundreds of Facebook posted responses after Forth Valley cops posted a CCTV image of a man they believe was involved in a serious assault in Falkirk last year.
The incident resulted in the victim being taken to hospital after he was punched in the face.
Instead of attracting useful information from the public, the appeal has led people to comment to mock the man’s “bowl cut”.
Dozens of users said the man was a spitting image of Lloyd Christmas - Jim Carrey’s character in the Dumb and Dumber films.
Others said he looked more like Spock, Still Game’s Methadone Mick and even Kim Jung Un.
While Christopher Graham said: “Needing lifted for that haircut.”
And David Nicholson added: “Find the barber more like, that’s a bigger crime.”
The appeal read: “We have today released a CCTV image of a man we wish to trace as part of an ongoing investigation into a serious assault.
“The incident happened at around 12.15am on December 3, 2017, in the Princes Street area of Falkirk, near to the junction with Park Street."
