FIVE cars were uplifted by cops after the drivers parked on pathways, blocking pedestrian access.
The drivers of the vehicles were each issued with a conditional offer of fixed penalty which is £50.
With recovery fees the drivers could also be paying up to £300.
Cops in East Kilbride issued a warning to other motorists thinking of doing the same.
It comes after they received complaints about parking in Philipshill Road.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers at East Kilbride Problem Solving Team regularly receive complaints about the parking of cars upon pathways, causing obstruction to pedestrians.
"We try our best to educate drivers and resolve the issue without resorting to enforcement action. However yesterday we uplifted five vehicles which were causing an obstruction on Philipshill Road, East Kilbride."
The spokesman added: "Look at this picture, is this pavement accessible with a pushchair or a wheelchair? Or even without one!
"The drivers of the vehicles were each issued with a conditional offer of fixed penalty which is £50. With recovery fees the drivers can be paying up to £300 to recover their car and pay the fine all due to inconsiderate parking and a lack of consideration for pedestrians.
"If you live, work or visit East Kilbride please ensure your car is parked legally and is not causing any obstruction.
"If not it may not be there when you return and it will hit you in the pocket."
