A PROBE has been launched by a health board after a young woman was found dead when she went missing from a hospital in East Kilbride.
Stephanie Murphy was found dead at a house on Dee Place in Mossneuk in the South Lanarkshire town.
A search was launched after the 28-year-old went missing from Hairmyres Hospital on Sunday night. She was later found in a house less than an hour later.
Police Scotland previously said there was no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
Margaret Serrels, Service Manager, Mental Health and Learning Disability Services, NHS Lanarkshire, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family at this difficult time.
"We will carry out a full review in line with the NHS Lanarkshire significant adverse event review process.
"As part of the review process we will contact the patient’s family to give them the opportunity to share their views and raise any questions they have.
"A copy of the final report will be provided to the family.”
